Important Updates
Computer-Administered Testing (CAT) System Maintenance
System maintenance is being performed on the ETS Computer-Administered Testing (CAT) System from approximately 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (Central time) on Sunday, February 28, 2010. During this time, you will NOT be able to register, reschedule, or cancel any CAT exams administered at test centers with an APCN or APCU prefix (e.g., APCN 7711). All functions will continue to be available for test centers with an STN prefix (e.g., STN13089). Registrations for paper-based testing will not be affected.
Next Administration Window for the Master Technology Teacher (MTT) Test
The next MTT testing window is Monday, April 12 through Saturday, April 24, 2010. To secure registrations for their preferred test dates and test centers, candidates wishing to take the MTT test are encouraged to register well in advance. After April, the next MTT administration window will be in late June.
Notice for TExES Braille Test (183) Registrants
Well in advance of your test date, be sure to go to What to Bring to the Test Center and read the important information under TExES Braille Test about what you must bring to the test center. This information is also on pages 30 and 31 of the TExES Registration Bulletin.
BTLPT and LOTE Administration Windows
The next administration window for the BTLPT - Spanish and LOTE - French, German and Spanish tests is March 27-April 3. Registration for this window closes on February 26. Educators who will be taking the BTLPT and LOTE tests are encouraged to practice using the appropriate Alternate Character Toolbar prior to test day by accessing the tutorial. Scores for this testing window will be available by end of day on Monday, April 26.
TExES™ LOTE - German Supplemental Guide
The Supplemental Guide for the TExES™ Languages Other Than English (LOTE) - German is now available. It can be downloaded free of charge from the TExES/ExCET Download Library. This guide provides a preview of the actual screens used in the computerized tasks encountered in the LOTE - German test.
CAT Testing for TExES Bilingual Education Supplemental, Generalist EC-6 and PPR EC-6 Available
CAT testing for TExES Bilingual Education Supplemental (164), Generalist EC-6 (191) and PPR EC-6 (194) CAT testing is now available. Registration must be completed at least four days before the test date.
Updated MTT Test Preparation Manual
The updated TExMaT Master Technology Teacher (MTT) test preparation manual is now available for download in the Preparation Materials section of this website.
Updated Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones, smartphones (e.g., BlackBerry® devices, iPhones), PDAs and other electronic or photographic devices are not allowed in the test center. If you bring these items into the test center, you will be dismissed, your test fees will be forfeited and your scores will be canceled. Test administrators are no longer permitted to collect and hold cell phones. If you have to leave to store your phone in your vehicle, you must be back before the doors to the test center are closed. Once the doors are closed, you will not be admitted, even if you have already been in the test center and left to store your phone. If you are dropped off, you must not have your phone in your possession. If you do, you will not be admitted to test.
Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT)
Significant changes to Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §227.10 (a)(3)(C) were approved by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) on October 10, 2008. The new rule allows degreed individuals who have never been admitted to an SBEC-approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) to take Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT) to demonstrate content proficiency for possible admission into an EPP. Retaking a CAT Test
Test takers who want to retake a CAT test must wait 60 days before they can retake the same test via computer. If they reregister before 60 days, the registration system will only display test dates 60 days or more after the previous CAT test date.

During this time, you will NOT be able to register, reschedule or cancel any CAT exams. If you encounter any problems, please try again later.
SBEC/TEA Online Maintenance
System maintenance is performed on the SBEC/TEA online system each Sunday from 8:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. central time. The SBEC/TEA system may be temporarily unavailable during this time. This may affect your ability to register for a test and/or view your profile. If you encounter any problems, please try again later.
Important Message About Creating Your ETS Testing Account
The information you provide when creating your ETS testing account MUST match the information in your SBEC Educator Profile. Your TEA ID number (or Testing ID number), first name, last name, and date of birth must match what is in your SBEC Educator Profile. If it does not, you will receive an error message. If you receive an error message when you create your ETS testing account, please recheck your entries or check the information in your SBEC Educator Profile.

Reporting Time Change for TExES Administrations
Candidates registered to test at Ryan High School on April 17, 2010, and June 26, 2010, for TExES testing should be aware that this center is available for A.M. session testing only.
Test Center Reporting Time Policy
You must report to the test center 30 minutes before the start time listed on your admission ticket. If you arrive late, you will not be admitted and your test fee will be forfeited. It is your responsibility to allow plenty of time to arrive by the designated time, regardless of whether there is traffic congestion, road construction, bad weather, car accidents, poor directions, or any other incident that might delay arrival.
Test Center Complaints
If you have comments about the test center or the conditions under which you took a test, please submit them in writing to ETS. See contact information below. Complaints for paper-based test centers must be received no later than 7 days after your test date. Complaints for CAT tests must be received no later than 2 days after your test date.
